Website analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand visits, page usage and how people find this resource. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives technical information such as browser and device details and website interactions. We do not send inquiry or planning-tool entries to Analytics. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. Page URLs sent by our tag exclude query strings and fragments.

See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can block analytics through browser controls or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

The project planner

The planner processes your answers in your browser tab. It does not transmit them to this website, store them in a website database or save them in browser storage. Reloading or closing the page clears the answers. If you download a brief, a text file is saved through your browser to a location you choose or your default download folder.

Share that downloaded file only with people you choose. The planner does not send it to a contractor, lender or other recipient.

Website delivery and external links

Your browser makes requests to the website host to load pages, images, fonts and other site files. The host may process technical request information, such as an IP address, browser information and security logs, to deliver and protect the website. Fonts are hosted with the site; the website does not install advertising pixels.

Our guides link to government, technical and other primary sources. Following an external link opens a website with its own content and privacy practices.

Project inquiries

When you submit the project inquiry form, your name, email address, optional phone number, general project location, project type and message are sent to the website operator to review and respond to your request. Submitting the form does not automatically send your information to a builder or create a construction agreement.

The website uses Vercel to process the form request and Resend to deliver it by email. Your email address is included as the reply-to address so the operator can respond. The site does not create a separate lead database; copies of your inquiry can remain with the email delivery service and in the operator’s mailbox. See Resend’s privacy policy for information about that service.

Spam protection

The inquiry page loads Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent automated submissions. Google receives technical information from your browser and sets a necessary cookie for risk analysis. The server verifies the CAPTCHA result before attempting email delivery. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to reCAPTCHA.

Use the contact form to ask about a previous inquiry or request a correction or deletion. Include only enough information to identify your request.

Do not put sensitive financial, identity or account documents in a project brief. A general description of the location, space, scope and timing is sufficient for an initial conversation.
